About the Program
This program is full, we are now accepting names for a waitlist. On July 19th-30th, 2010, the Academy of Music will offer a workshop on musical theater, including sessions in vocal technique, jazz and tap dance, song and audition repertoire, acting and scene study. Workshop sessions will begin at 9:00 am and will finish at 3:00 pm on each day of the workshop. No previous performance experience is necessary.
This fun-filled and enriching summer program is designed to nurture each child's self-esteem and to foster self-discipline, arts appreciation, creative thinking, trust and teamwork. We provide a supportive environment that encourages participants to have the confidence to try new things and to believe in their own abilities as they express their talents and have fun on stage. We also offer every child the thrill of participating in an actual show on the same stage as some of the greatest performers in the history of American entertainment — the Academy of Music!
Outstanding and supportive professionals with notable accomplishments will direct the workshop. Instructors will provide participants with opportunities for artistic exploration, self-expression, education and teamwork by exposing them to all aspects of musical theater. Classes will be held on stage and in the hall of the renowned Academy of Music Theatre in downtown Northampton.
A Broadway musical revue will be staged Friday afternoon to showcase the week's work. Parents and friends are invited to attend this special performance.

Program Costs
The cost of the entire two week-long program is $375. A non-refundable deposit of $95 is due with registration form to reserve a space. Checks are made payable to the Academy of Music, 274 Main Street, Northampton, MA 01060. The balance of the tuition will be due no later than on June 15th, 2010.

Meals
